Using Medicaid to Fund Mental Health/Behavioral Health Support
Can you use Medicaid to pay for your sessions?
Yes, it is possible. The Affordable Health Care Act not only allowed for the expansion of services for those in the private sector, now government based insurance programs have also expanded their coverage- which offers more citizens the ability to address those standing concerns that act as barriers to a more fulfilled life. Whether you have recently lost your employment and have fallen into a depression, or you have noticed that you still engage in behaviors that you believe are currently standing in the way of a satisfying relationship, you may be eligible for emotional support via Counseling & Coaching Concierge LLC.
At Counseling & Coaching Concierge LLC, we accept certain medicaid plans that are supported by the District of Columbia (Amerihealth), Maryland (Value Options), and Virginia (Magellen Behavioral Health of Virginia).
What is the process to get started?
First, make contact with your member services to ensure that you are eligible for services. Next, make contact with Counseling & Coaching Concierge LLC to get the ball rolling.

How do you find out whether your medicaid coverage will pay for counseling sessions?
There should be a phone number for members services listed on your medicaid card in which you can call to inquire about eligibility. If you are still unsure, give us a call and we will try to help you sort it out. Below you will find links to information that is specific to your particular medicaid program. By accessing the website that is unique to your medicaid insurance plan, you may either find the information you need, or a phone number in which you can speak to a live individual to get details about your plan.

Amerihealth Now Pays for Video Therapy
Yes, you heard it here, as of April 15, 2015, Amerihealth has decided to offer it's members this new feature allowing you to engage therapy via non-traditional modes- from your home, while on vacation, while convalescing from a illness, when there are issues with childcare, or for other reasons that make it impossible for you to attend services traditional way via an in office visit. We at Counseling & Coaching Concierge applaud Amerihealth for removing barriers to treatment on behalf of their valued members.
Why should you come to therapy sessions, and come regularly?
Life experience and research has taught us at Counseling and Coaching Concierge LLC that if you are willing to gain a new perspective of your life situation, identify relevant coping skills, change a few key behaviors, and perhaps even change your approach- its possible that your physical health status may benefit from the changes. So, we work in collaboration with your medical health team, meaning that you should still show up for medical appointments when scheduled, and take your medication as prescribed. We do not replace your medical team, we supplement the service your medical team provides by working on the emotional aspects associated with your ailments that may be contributing to the deterioration of both your physical and emotional health. We do not offer any guarantees because much of your experience will be based on how much you are willing to self manage your physical and emotional care, along with how well we are able to connect with your needs.
Why should you schedule an appointment sooner than later?
The Affordable Care Act is ground-breaking because it has required most states to expand both the services they offer to members, and provide services to a greater portion of our population who were once under-insured. Meaning, now is a great time to begin working on self, or to re-connect with a professional you have used in the past to utilize your benefits before any drastic changes are made to your policy. The bottom line is that you take the time to work on achieving overall well-being by addressing both your physical and emotional health.
We do understand, and fully respect, your need to reschedule your appointment as life happens. However, it is our policy that you provide us with 24 hours advance notice to better allow us to accommodate another client's appointment request with the newly vacant appointment slot. You will otherwise be invoiced for a $50 cancellation fee which must be paid prior to receiving another schedule slot. Keep in mind that you will be solely responsible for the cancellation fee as insurance companies will not co-share in such payment type.
